Lazing Around by Piehamster
Lazing Around
Well, I'm back to lineart again, heh :P

Pretty pleased with how it turned out. I have to say I'm glad to be simply using lineart again with nice simple airbrush shading - it's so much simpler...  (although, I "painted" the background).

Perhaps the anatomy could be a bit better, and the hands could be a bit bigger, but oh well. I'm just happy to get this done, hah :iconteeheeneplz:

Just a quick thought I wanted to share with people:

This new "painting" style of mine - I am not sure it is too good. I mean, painting is amazing, but I just don't think I have the artistic ability to do it successfully.

Looking back, my older drawings before I started this were a lot neater, and had much more vivid and bright colours. I also noticed that my recent experimental drawings/paintings/whatever haven't really been that popular as my drawings usually are. And to be honest, I can see why. For instance, my Roromiya Karuta drawing I really think is a complete mess, and I'm not really that happy about it. In my opinion there has been a great drop in art quality since I've started trying it.

To be honest, I think lineart is easier, and in some ways I prefer it. Perhaps I may "paint" in the future again, but for now I know that I am really not ready and artistically mature enough yet for it (with the exception of backgrounds, perhaps). As an interesting observation, I can see that the majority of artists tend to use lineart, and those who don't are pretty damn good on average.

Of course, I've learned from this experience to use more vivid and bright colours!

Anyway, not sure if anybody even cares about this, but I thought I'd let people know.

Sitting by Piehamster
Sitting
Sorry I haven't uploaded anything for quite some time now - I kinda decided to take a little "study break" regarding drawing, heh.

But, basically it means that I have finally accepted and understood the use of references, which I now use myself. I have to say, it really does help. If only I did it sooner :iconsighingplz:

Anyway, I thought I'd make another drawing of my OC, sitting on a hot summer's day. Haha :P

I tried to improve the colours this time round. I also (like, when I was almost finished), decided to kinda change techniques (using airbrush etc) and at the same time work on "painting" a lot neater.

One thing I still think sucks is the hair, but I'll just have to improve on it. :iconba-kyunplz:

Twins
Nothing much to see here - just more bikinis and catgirls :iconpachuuplz:

Now I am certain that this is the style I'm "at home" with. Only thing is though, that I feel like my shading is a bit bright and plain, and possibly lower quality than it was when I used to use lineart... I think I will need to try to improve it a bit.:iconyukkothinkingniplz:

I just realized a few days ago, that despite my name I have never actually made a hamster OC! :iconhakasecrankyniplz:  So, I thought I'd make one! Even if she's wearing a bikini :iconpachuuplz:

Fairly pleased with it. But, I noticed that I think her upper body/torso is a little wrong. Like, it looks too long :iconsighingplz:
